The term “Ayurveda” combines the Sanskrit words ayur (life) and veda (science or knowledge). Thus, Ayurveda means “the science of life.”
In Ayurvedic medicine, health is defined as the soundness of sharir (body), mana (mind), and aatma (self). Each of these must be nurtured if an individual is to have good health.
Ayurvedic medicine aims to integrate and balance the body, mind, and spirit .This balance is believed to lead to happiness and health, and to help prevent illness .Ayurveda offers methods of finding out early stages of diseases that are still unknown to modern medical science.
Ayurveda understands that a person remains healthy when he is living in harmony with nature and disease arises when a person is out of harmony with the cycles of nature.
All things in the universe (both living and nonliving) are combined together in Ayurveda.
Why should we go for Ayurvedic treatment
The main goal of Ayurveda is prevention as well as promotion of the body’s own capacity for maintenance and balance.
Ayurvedic medicine aims to integrate and balance the body, mind, and spirit. This balance is believed to lead to happiness and health, and to help prevent illness.
Ayurvedic medicine also treats specific physical and mental health problems.
Basically in Ayurveda there are three essential humours .Vayu, Pitta and Kapha. Blood is added as the fourth humour.
Vayu:It controls the creation, growth, and disintegration of all living organisms.
Pitta:It is responsible for the creation of heat and all forms of radiant energy in the body. It is also responsible for the pumping action of heart, skin’s temperature, and the vitality of blood.
Kapha:Kapha supplies the placid and cooling principles to the body
which can cause disease if they become imbalanced.
Importance of Ayurveda
Ayurveda is to promote health, increase immunity and resistance, and to cure diseases.
The two main aims of Ayurveda are maintenance of this equilibrium and its repair in case of any imbalance and derangement.
Ideas about the relationships among people, their health, and the universe form the basis for how Ayurvedic practitioners think about problems that affect health.
Ayurveda had recognized the importance of the environment in the total health.
Ayurveda gives equal importance to mental health
Ayurveda deals with medical subjects such as genetics, gynecology, etiology, surgery, physiology, biology, diet, ethics, personal hygiene, social medicine, allied subjects like animal biology, botany, cultivation, pharmacognosy, chemistry, and cosmology.
Ayurveda helps each individual realign their living patterns to bring about health and peace and to remember that their true nature is spirit. Ayurveda gives equal importance to both preventive and curative aspects.
At present we have well trained / skilled panchakarma staff and also good team for ayurvedic treatments. Here we provide complete authentic ayurvedic treatments to our patients.

Gall bladder is a storage site of pitta which is secreted when the food symptoms indigestion, anorexia (loss of appetite), gaseous distension, right epigastria pain, constipation bolus moves from stomach to intestine and brings out digestion but the pitta is produced in liver. When pitta dosha is vitiated and liquidity and taikshnya get decreased and stones are formed. Due to vitiated pitta, symptoms like indigestion, anorexia (loss of appetite), gases distension, right epigastria pain, constipation etc. appear.
It is found that even if the gall bladder is removed surgically, above symptoms still persist in 70% patients. With the help of Bhedan, Virechan and Basti Chikitsa, the stones may liquefy and patient gets completely cured. Treatment of Kaphavritta saman vayu is done in our hospital / clinic.
According to Ayurveda, gall bladder stones form mainly due to an improper metabolic process and this process is governed by the elemental force like the bile, pitta. Pitta controls the digestive system and all biochemical process. The Ayurvedic treatment of gall bladder stones involves herbal medications, detoxification and advice on adjustments to diet and lifestyle. Ayurveda views gallstones as a kapha disorder of slow metabolism (including underactive thyroid).

Symptoms
- Extensive and sever hair loss.
- Premature graying of hair.
- Baldness.
- Alopecia.
- dandruff, split ends.
- Vomiting.
- Excessive dry ness of hairs.
Hair problems may include extensive and severe hair loss, premature graying of hair, baldness, alopecia, dandruff, split ends, excessive dryness of hairs. These are the some very common complaints about the hair. In these complaints the fall of hair seems a very simple but serious issue. In the start almost all ignore it but when thick hair became thin and probability of baldness seems then seriousness is noted. Even premature graying is observed a lot a days.
In ayurveda hair is said to be a ‘mala’ (byproduct) of “Asthi Dhatu” (Bones). It is formed as mala when sarbhaga of asthidhatu is formed. Likewise body health of hair is dependent on the food consumed. If the food taken provides rich nourishment to “Asthi Dhatu ” and if proper care of hair is taken , then the health of hair will be good.
In today’s hectic lifestyle, consumption of fast food, bakery products, Chinese food, salty diet, outside food is increased. That’s why the hair problems have tremendously increased. Due to sour salty products , Pitta increases which goes to the hair follicle and thinning of root of hair follicles occurs which enhances the hair fall. If the pitta is increased to a large extend then premature graying takes place and younger person looks aged. The hair fall also increase in anemia and long lasting fevers. It the food increasing kapha dosha is taken in excessive the layers of “vikrut kapha” starts to form as scalp then it get dead and we call it as Dandruff, which also leads to hair fall. When this vikrut kapha get started at the hair root then glands at the base of hair follicle stop working and spots and pitches are formed which we torm as Alopecia (Chai).
The treatment is done as per the reason behind it. Just use of different oils and shampoos doesn’t give result but in contrast hair fall and graying goes on increasing. For this purpose internal (oral) medicines are given which provide nourishments to the Asthi Dhatu. Oils are also important for the application but use of nasya cinstillation of medicinal nasal drop is very beneficial. It strengthens and thickness hair root. Generally shampoos should be avoided. Ritha, shikekai should be used. Hot water shouldn’t be taken on head at the time of bath. Sour, soda products, junk food should be avoided and proper treatment under the guidance of expert doctor should be taken at proper time so that there will not be baldness and premature graying in early age

‘Hridaya’ (heart) as a body organ governs emotions and circulating blood to keep a person alive and healthy. The predisposing factors are heredity, high blood pressure, diabetes, high serum cholesterol and smoking. The way of living and the way of feeling appears to be quite an important factor in its increasing incidence.
Cardiac problems arise mainly due to improper diet and stressful life styles. These lead to thickening of arteries (dhamani praticaya) or hardening of arteries (dhamani kathinaya) resulting in amigo-obstruction (vata dosa) and angina (ruja).
High blood pressure that hammers the arterial walls roughens them and causes the arterial wall to thicken. fatty cholesterol particles get deposited under the inner lining of the arteries (i.e. atherosclerosis). The higher the pressure more the deposits will occur. Subsequently these deposits become calcified due to fibrous growth and involved arteries lose their elasticity. It prevents blood from flowing easily and may lead to clotting. The clot formation can suddenly choke off the blood supply and lead to a heart attack, stroke or kidney failure.

Symptoms
- Most of the time, there are no symptoms. For most patients. High blood pressure is found when they visit their health care provider or have it checked elsewhere.
- Because there are no symptoms, people can develop heart disease and kidney problems without knowing they have high blood pressure.
- If you have a severe headache, nausea or vomiting, bad headache, confusion, changes in your vision, or nosebleeds you may have a severe and dangerous form of high blood pressure called malignant hypertension.
According to Ayurveda, high blood pressure involves all the doshas, the heart, and the blood vessels. We can see signs and symptoms of derangement of vata dosha mainly that of ‘Vyana vayu’ in high blood pressure. The treatment is to correct the balance of vata dosha. Pitta visiation is also seen often and should be treated.
People with Pitta and Vata predominant constitution and Pitta and Vata imbalance, are more prone to hypertension than any other. Unprocessed anger, frustration, irritability, anxiety and fear leads to mal-adaptation of the endocrine system, which then leads to conditions like hypertension. Treatment is based on bringing these imbalances back to normal. In the treatment of hypertension; nutrition, exercise, breathing exercises (Pranayama), yoga, meditation, behavioral modification along with various herbs and minerals are prescribed

Incapability of the woman to conceive, after one year of regular, sexual union without contraception’s or to retain the fetus fill childbirth is called as infertility. There are two types of infertility: male infertility and woman infertility. So infertility could be because of problems in male or female or in both. “Vandhyatva” is the term used in ayurveda. Ayurveda has a very promising answer to this disorder.
According to Ayurveda, conception takes place due to healthy sperm, healthy ovum, and a healthy uterus. For both men and women, reproductive health depends on the health of the shukra dhatu, or reproductive tissue. In women the shukra tissue creates the ovum as part of the monthly cycle, and in men the semen is formed due to sexual stimulation.
The shukra tissue itself is created as part of a long chain of metabolic transformations, starting with the digestion of food and including the transformation of food to nutrient fluid, blood, muscle, fat, bone, bone marrow and finally, to shukra tissue. Healthy shukra tissue, then, according to ayurveda, depends on the health of all the other tissues in the body.

The kidneys are at the origin of the Mutra vaha srotas: the urinary system. The urethral opening is the opening of this system and the uterus are the route. The urinary tract is connected to Kledaka Kapha, Avalambaka Kapha, Apana Vayu and Ranjaka Pitta. If a person has diabetes mellitus and high blood sugar levels, Kledaka Kapha enables the movement of excessive sugar to the kidneys. The kidneys will excrete this sugar into the urine. The kidneys are responsible for processing excess fluid, waste and minerals from the blood. There is a connection between the mucous membrane of the large intestine and the kidneys. Excess fluid in the large intestine is absorbed through the mucous membrane and will finally be excreted in the urine. When a Srota is affected, health will be affected as well. When for instance the Mutra vaha srotas (urinary system) are overfilled with urine and the bladder is not emptied, a person may experience severe belly pain, cold chills, sweating and even headache.
Urine is a transparent fluid that is clear to amber in color; usually light yellow. It is the by-product that is secreted by the kidneys and transported by the uterus to the urinary bladder where it is stored until it is voided through the urethra. Urine is made up of a watery solution of metabolic wastes (such as urea), dissolved salts and organic materials. Fluid and materials being filtered by the kidneys, destined to become urine, come from the blood or interstitial fluid. The composition of urine is adjusted in the process of reabsorption when essential molecules needed by the body, such as glucose, are reabsorbed back into the blood stream through carrier molecules. The remaining fluid contains high concentrations of urea and other excess or potentially toxic substances that will ultimately leave the body with the urine. If a person has Vata constitution, the urine will be light or pale yellow. In a Pitta constitution, the urine will be strong yellow.
A Kapha person will have transparent urine. If the color is blackish-brown, this indicates a Vata disorder. If the color is dark yellow, a Pitta disorder. Also when there is constipation or the body has less intake of water, the urine will be dark yellow. If the urine is cloudy, there is a Kapha disorder. Red color of urine indicates a Rakta (blood) disorder. Certain foods can change the color of urine as well. Beets, blackberries and rhubarb can turn urine red or pink. Taking vitamin B and C will accumulate Ranjaka Pitta and result in yellow urine. Liver diseases like jaundice will cause dark yellow urine. Kidney stones can cause tiny ruptures in the tissues of the urinary tract as they pass through the uterus and into the bladder. This will cause visible blood in the urine. The presence of blood in the urine is the result of damage to the lining of the uterus or bladder, or tissue damage inside the kidney. The urine can also have a foul smell, for instance, after eating asparagus. Foul smelling and cloudy urine is a common symptom for cystitis (bladder infection) and pyelitis (inflammation of the kidney pelvis).
When no food item is eaten that can affect the color of the urine and the color is bluish, red or dark, this implicates that all three doshas are out of balance. When foul-smelling urine is not caused by anything in the diet, this may indicate a buildup of toxins in the body (Ama condition).Acidic urine which creates a burning sensation indicates excess Pitta. A sweet smell to the urine indicates a diabetic condition. Gravel in the urine indicates stones in the urinary tract. Examination of the urine is a special diagnostic tool in Ayurveda. The urine sample should be collected in a clean vessel, taken directly at the time of urination after avoiding the first few drops

According to Ayurveda, improper diet and lifestyle leads to aggravation of all three doshas (Ayurvedic humors) and impairment of the digestive fire, causing formation of toxins (ama) in the body. These toxins travel down the channels carrying urine, where aggravated doshas combine with it, causing its crystallization and leading to the formation of kidney stones.
Ayurvedic treatment of Kidney Stones involves the use of diuretic and stone-dissolving herbs in acute cases. The system is then cleaned and strengthened using toning and rejuvenating preparations. Panchakarma therapy is a very effective means of cleansing the body internally in order to help it regain strength.

Migraine has become a common disorder owing to modern lifestyle. From the perspective of ayurveda, migraine headaches are due to a disorder in tridosha – the mind-body constitution. Although it is possible to get headaches from disorders in vata, pitta, or kapha, migraines frequently occur when systemic pitta moves into the cardiovascular system, circulates, and affects the blood vessels around the brain. The blood vessels dilate due to the hot, sharp quality of pitta. This, in turn, creates pressure on the nerves, resulting in migraines.

Symptoms
- Clothes feeling tight and needing a larger size.

- Having extra fat around the waist.
- A higher than normal body mass index and waist circumference.
Obesity is described as ‘Medoroga’ in Ayurved. It is said that it is comparatively easy to help an underweight person, rather than an overweight person. The overweight problem can be due to an actual increase in the fat component (Meda Dhatu), or it can be due to malfunctioning. These, accordingly, will need different approaches. In very few cases it can be an offshoot of other metabolic disorders.
Body is made of 7- Dhatus {Rasa Rakta Maans Meda Asthi \), Majja) Shukra But in obese fellow Meda is excessively nourished and remaining other Dhatus get malnourished. Kapha gets accumulated in between. When Kapha increases in abnormal fashion, Fat metabolism gets hampered and person become obese.
Roll of medicines with dietary correction is to remove obstructed Kapha and let all Dhatus nourish equally. It is not only the quantity of food that is important, but also the type of food one eats. It is not always necessary to go on a restricted diet, but qualitative changes and food habits can bring remarkable changes.

- Occur anywhere in the body. They may occur on both sides of the body (bilateral) or one side (unilateral). Paralysis occurring in the lower half of the body, below the midsection, is known as paraplegia.
- Quadriplegia is paralysis occurring in both the arms and the legs.
- Paralysis can be caused by trauma or spinal cord injuries.
- Neurological disorders, such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, Bell’s palsy (inflammation of the facial nerve), and other types of nerve damage.
- A higher than normal body mass index and waist circumference.
Paralysis in Ayurveda is denoted as “Pakshaghaat”. Ayurveda has mentioned facial paralysis as a separate disease entity called “Ardita”. The ancient Ayurvedic texts mention mild purgation as a special form of treatment for stroke. This treatment modality is, surprisingly, not recommended in Ayurveda for any other neurological condition resulting from a disturbed “Vata” dosha. It is believed that this treatment helps to reverse the pathology in stroke, by normalizing the “Prana Vayu” (which regulates the functions of the brain) and bringing about normal functioning of the blood vessels, muscles and tendons.. Massage of the entire body using medicated oils, followed by steam fomentation, is considered an important part of the treatment for stroke.
“Basti” or medicated enema is also a unique part of Ayurvedic treatment for stroke. Both the “Niruh” and “Anuvaasan” types of enemas are used in an alternating fashion.
Medicated nasal drops are used to stimulate and bring about early recovery of the special sense organs. This therapy is known as “Nasya”.

Symptoms
- Bleeding after passing a stool.
- A pile may move down, outside of the anus .
- A mucus discharge after passing a stool.
- Itchiness around your anus.
- Soreness and inflammation around your anus.
- constipation.
Piles
are either dry or bleeding and often caused by chronic constipation, hard and knotty slots, intake of spices, wines, meats and also by poor or absent physical activity. Dry piles are more painful, while bleeding piles render a person weaker. Pregnant ladies, elderly persons, sedentary persons who eat enormously and quite often but do no exercise, or the person taking above-mentioned dietary items, are more prone to piles. Persistent complaint may cause other complications also, such as fissures, cancerous growths, pain, swelling, smarting etc.
Types of Piles :
Dry piles( shushk arsh ) – In dry piles there is inflammation of the external piles, continuous pain and become unbearable while voiding the bowels.
Bleeding piles(stavi arsh ) – In bleeding piles, the internal piles start bleeding and there may be excessive bleeding which lead to anaemia and consequent emaciation.
Fissure
It is a furrow or a cut and anal is for anal ring- so anal fissure is a cut like condition in the anal ring! Anus is an important part as it controls the movements of the excreta from the body. Once the stool is excessively hard, this leaves a scar on the ring and it causes this painful condition of anal fissure. Anal fissure is confused with the piles for a laymen and the main difference in piles and anal fissure is- the pain initiates just after passing the stool and if the cut is fresh there you can see a lining of the blood on the stool.
This is a condition of Vata aggravation. Once Vata is aggravated, it brings dryness in the body and due to this dryness is increased in the body it dries up the stool. Once this stool is passed forcefully through the anus, this stool cuts the linings of the mucosal membrane on the anal ring. Passing the stool there will be immense irritation on the anal ring and this irritation can increase to sever pain too.
There is one other condition in which Anal fissure can occur in the body and this is the shrinkage of the anal ring. Once this ring is tight to pass the stool, body exerts the maximum pressure on the ring to pass the stool and in this process there will be damage to this ring.
In this second condition, if we check the Dosha, it will be Vata again because this is the Vata Dosha which causes and brings constriction in the muscles. Treatment of the Anal fissure is based on two things, one is the healing of the cuts and second is the removal of the cause like hard stool or constricted anal ring
Fistula
is a deadly disease which occurs most commonly on the rectum. A yellow liquid gets formed on the area which is very painful. Anal fistula is generally treated through surgery but it is known to recur after some time. You need to be very conscious of this fact when looking to get your condition treated. Ayurvedic remedies for fistula are known to cure the disorder for good. Several techniques and therapeutic procedures are available in Ayurveda that eliminate the problem from its root.
Bhagandara is the name by which fistula is known as in Ayurvedic practice. Three kinds of the disease are recognised with different treatments. One of the important therapies for curing fistula in Ayurveda is Kshar Sutra. This involves cutting up some tissues and these take time to heal
Although Ksheer Sutra is a slow process on the whole but it is getting global recognition gradually as a very effective treatment for fistula. The great advantage in undergoing this treatment is that the patient does not need to be admitted to a hospital. He can carry on with his regular everyday work without any trouble.
Another Ayurvedic treatment for fistula is known as Enema. In this treatment, hot bath is given to the patient suffering from it. Lower body parts are involved in this therapy. A few other types of fomentation is also recommended. The patient needs to be constantly checked for any signs of suffering for diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, TB or any other. Agnikarma is another treatment for fistula in Ayurveda.

Symptoms
- Scaly patches of skin not caused by the infection
- Scaly patches of skin produced by fungal or bacterial infection
- Red, Itchy bumps or patches over the body parts like chest and back
“Kushta” is a wide term used for various disorders. Skin disorders are mostly due to the intrinsic toxins formed in the body which are because of altered lifestyle, consumption fo fast food , viruddha anna sevan, stree and prakurti. These toxins affect (pitta) blood and when exceeded irrupt in the form of skin diseases. So the main treatment in skin diseases by detoxifications. The sansaman chikitsa along with panchakarma and rasayan chikitsa , takrodhara shows excellent result and disease can get eradicated completely without side effects on other body system also.
According to Ayurveda, the skin has six layers, located not only superficially but extending to the deeper levels of the body. A skin disease is, mostly, rooted deeply into various dhatus or tissues like fat, muscles, blood etc. Most skin treatments are generally external applications like creams or oils. These, however, never reach the deeper layers of the skin. As a result, the symptoms disappear temporarily, and the disease is not rooted out permanently. Ayurveda always tries to root out the disease by treating it specifically according to its cause.
Two of the main causes are a wrong diet and lifestyle. Following a diet or life style that is against the season or the prakriti (nature) of a person, creates an imbalance in bodily energies, thus contaminating the body tissues to produce a skin disease. In Ayurvedic terms, although skin diseases are caused due to imbalances in all the three doshas, the prime dosha involved is pitta. Pitta symbolizes heat or fire. Therefore all those foods or activities that increase the fire element in the body should be eliminated. This includes hot, spicy, fried, oily and greasy foods. Exposure to heat and sun, drinking too much tea, coffee, and alcohol, and smoking also aggravate the pitta.
According to Ayurveda, there are two major classification of all types of ‘Kushtha’(skin diseases). These are: 1) Maha-kushtha (Major skin disease) and
2) Kshudra-kushtha (Minor skin disease)
Further, Maha-kushtha(Major skin disease) is subdivided into seven subtypes, which are:
Kapala kushtha- Vata dosha dominance
Audumbara kushtha- Pitta dosha dominance
Mandala kushtha- Kapha dosha dominance
Rishya jihwa kushtha- Vata & Pitta doshas dominance
Pundarika kushtha- Pitta & Kapha doshas dominance
Sidhma kushtha- Kapha & Vata doshas dominance
Kakanak kushtha- All the above tri-doshas dominance
Kshudra-kushtha (Minor skin disease) is sub-divided into eleven subtypes and these are:
Eka kushtha
Charmakya
Vipadika
Kitibh
Alasaka
Dadru
Pama
Charmadala
Visphota

Psoriasis
Psoriasis Causes:
Many basic Ayurvedic texts have explained skin diseases, which resembles Psoriasis. According these references, Psoriasis can be considered as the vitiation of Vata and Kapha. (Two of the basic energies/humors, which maintains our body equilibrium) Accumulation of low potency poisons (Dooshi vishas), are the basic pathological changes taking place in the system. Irregular food habits, consumption of foodstuffs that cannot be eaten together (E.g.: dairy products with fish), excessive intake of yogurt, black gram, seafood, sour and salted items etc can activate the pathogenesis. Alcohol and tobacco consumption will act as a catalyst here. Ayurveda do emphasize on the effect of stress in the pathogenesis of Psoriasis.
Psoriasis Treatment:
Coming to the treatment aspects of Psoriasis according to Ayurveda, it aims at the detoxification of the body or elimination of toxins from the body fluids. It is achieved by “Panchakarma” treatments. Vicharchika

For treating low back pain, internal as well as external treatments are done. it may lead to spondilytis lumbago slip disk ,cord compression sciatica
Slip Disc :
SSpinal disc herniation is a condition affecting the spine in which there is a tear in the outer fibrous ring of an inter vertebral disc which allows the soft central portion to bulge. Symptoms of a herniated disc can vary depending on the location of the herniation and the types of soft tissue that become involved Symptoms-numbness, tingling, muscular weakness, paralysis, and affection of reflexes In ayurveda the conditions which can result in back pain include external traumatic factors (abhighataja), and internal (nija) Lower back (kadi) is a vata specific site, at the same time joints are site of sleshaka sleshma(kapha), due to the causes(nidanas) vatha aggravation occur in kapha sthana. And due to the increased ruksha guna(quality of dryness, leading to reduction in water content resulting in prolapse and in turn nerve irritation. The aim of the treatment is to reduce the dryness and bring back the sneha guna, elasticity and to rehydrate the disc, removing the osteophytes also called the mala roopakapha.the treatment will be mainly vataharam and kaphaharam in initial stages and bramhanam in later stages to nourish the disc.
Lumbago :
As per Ayurveda Lumbago is called as Kateeshoola, with “Kati” referring to the lower back and “Shula” referring to pain and is classified under Kateegrahamor Prustashoola. Vitiated ‘Vata’ is considered to be the principle dosha involved and the treatment in Ayurveda is aimed to bring the vitiated ‘dosha’ back to the state of equilibrium. Treatment comprises of three approaches, Elimination (Sodhanam) of the accumulated toxic products of digestion, metabolism and the disease process, Pacification (Samanam) and correction of the entities responsible for altered functioning and Rasayanam (Rejuvenation) of the bodily tissue to regain and maintain natural strength and vitality

Spondilitis is the result of an inflammation of the vertebral joints. The problem with detecting the condition is the fact that it develops rather under the radar and only comes to prominence once the condition has fully developed – at which time the amount of pain and suffering it causes is substantial. The pain is usually concentrated around the cervical region of the neck, shoulder and lower spine with the instances and stings of pain flowing further downwards. ‘What is spondylitis’ will defer from instance to instance because of the fact that the condition categorizes three main types. The three types of spondylitis are: Cervical spondylitis – which affects the cervical spine, causing the pain to spread towards the back of the neck.
Lumbar spondylitis – which causes the pain in the lumbar region.
Ankylosing spondylitis- which is primarily a disease that affects the sacroiliac joints – causing stiffness in the neck, jaw, shoulders, hips and knees.
Types Of Spondylitis :
Cervical Spondylitis: Neck pain that affects the cervical spin is called Cervical Spondylitis. This pain can spread to the rear of the neck, both sides of the shoulder, collar bone, and shoulder joints. It restricts neck movement, and the arms become motionless due to weakness in muscles.
Lumbar Spondylitis : Pain in the lumbar region causes Lumbar Spondylitis.
Spondylitis Deformans :: Also known as Ankylosing Spondylitis, this disease affects the sacroiliac joints, vertebral column, shoulders, and hip joints. The spine usually becomes very rigid. The knees, heels, hips, shoulders, neck, and jaw also become stiff.

According to modern science, the causes of ulcerative colitis are unknown till date but ayurveda has a very commanding etiology and treatment for this disease.
“Agni” is said to digest the consumed food and it converts the comsumed food into body elements. “Agni” resides by the organ called “Grahani” when food is pushed down from stomach to Grahani. It is expected that it will stay for some time in Grahani where there will sanskar (digestin action) of agni. But when function of “Grahani” get disturbed it loses its ability to hold the food in it and the undigested / partially digested food is pushed ahead. The required nutrient if not get absorbed properly then the undigested part has to be retained for a long time in colon part (large intestines ). Where absorption of nutrients from the food takes place on a large basic. In order to absorb required nutrients colon needs to perform again and again and load on it goes to increasing which ultimately leads to inflammation and swelling of colon which is called “Colitis”
When the protective layers of the colon goes on thinning. Ulcer formation occurs which is called “Ulcerative Collitis” so the holding capacity of Grahani (Colon) goes on decreasing and it shows followings symptoms.
In ulcerative colitis patients, when bleeding is more it shows complications like Paleness / Anemia, swelling, difficulty in breathing.
